I currently think about an experimental build that I want to test after the balancing patch. I want to wait for the final skills for the magic knight. The build was created with following thoughts:

Probleme of the common int/wis noble:
Far too few HP for PvP, effetive nuking sucks mana like hell which even much wisdome cannot compensate
--> Points for cannot be afforted

Idea:
A pur con magic knight! Why? Okay here a few items:
  • Almost all skills on the dark tree are dedicated to m.atk
  • We also need not much magic hit, our dark skills have a noticeable higher hit race compared to the elementar skills (the passive skill plus the gloves must be enough)
  • Thus we need no intelligence!
  • Constitution is a must have for PvP anyway
  • We need no strength, we don't do any damage with the rapier, since we have no skils for it (using the p.atk of the rapier)
  • dark skills cannot be critical, therefore willpower would be a waste
  • Dexterity seems to be ineffetiv to invest only a few points, currently con is superior to dex imho
  • Wisdome... well we need mana, but do you see the nice skill which gives you "MP for HP"? Depending on the cool down of this skill, this could be THE solution for your mana problems. However a major cool down would render the skill completly useless.


The rolls of this build could be the following:
  • Crowd Controll (PvP and PvE)
    -> This can be used for either protecting own faction critical characters or disturbing the defense
  • Depending on the balancing patch maybe damage over time
  • You are the only character who can use teleport AND has the defense capability to actually teleport right behind the enemy line and surive!


Addional rolls in PvE:
  • Secondary tank (with phantom pain and the huge amout of HP you can survive long, but you cannot hold aggro. However it should be fine to tank monsters like the followers of a boss.


PS: This build probably requires high upgraded equip, only not soo important thing would be the shoes. Don't forget that upgrading a rapier increases it's physical AND magical atttack attribut! (at least that's what is shown)

With the patch some things have changed, but there one major change I want to point out. Phantom Pain has become useless als tank support, however especially Ice Bomb become and is an intresting point here. With a little timing the "tanking" magic knight can force the monsters to stay by there side for a few seconds with Ice Bombe which use here is a non-breaking (damage doesn't stop the effect) PBAE root. So after luring the monster together this will give the AoE players the oppurnity to cast at least 2 AoE skills before the monsters will raid the most successing AoE party member. This should ideally knock out the majority of the monsters and the remaining can quickly be slain with quick rapier stabs. This can especially be usefull if you play with a primary without cry of courage as primary tank. I see only problem with this: You don't have enough magical hit rate to hit the monsters with the hit reduced elementar skills. So luck must still be with you. ^-^

For the role as DoT, can be ruled out. The DoT effect of these 2 skills are skills on a more or less useless level, also you don't have the skill points to focus on them. Best "DoT" seems still to be fire pole which you will probably have issues with the hit rate as pure con build. In case you ever hit the maximum con you may have, you'd of course choice to push Int to obtain magical hit rate.
